Advice on purchasing a puppy. Should I avoid this transaction? (Border Collie - UK) PLEASE HELP?
sorry you have had some unwanted replies. this is quite common on the dog section! everyone's an expert. if i were you i would go in person to see the pups, and judge for yourself when you get there. i know there are a lot of unscrupulous breeders out there, but this doesn't necessarily have to be one. the woman could just be a professional Border Collie breeder, and the comment she made about there being 'plenty more in her' was maybe just an off the cuff remark, said without thinking. i used to live in Carlisle, and it's not a big place, and i've never heard of any puppy farms around there, and somebody would have reported her by now had she been doing so. it's a tight knit kind of place. so i would drive there and check it out and go with your instincts when you get there. getting a dog is an important decision so face to face is what i would go for. good luck with whatever colour collie you get, and ignore any unwarranted replies.
