If GOD meant for us to live an abundant life in complete triumph & Christ died so that we could, then why...?

...do we live in mediocrity? Why do we accept living with sickness, and pain? Why do we accept the idea of living in poverty? If Christ died so that we could live a life in complete triumph, why do we accept these things and not live the way GOD intended for us?
