Who were saddam hussein's allies? why were they his allies?

Not to stereotype, but many Middle-Eastern countries. They were his allies because (and not to offend any non-radicals from the Middle-East) they were stupid. Honestly, if you get enjoyment from terrorizing other countries, you're just plain ignorant.
