One definition of "consentir" means to favor someone, to give them special attention because they hold a special place in one's heart. For someone to call you his "consentida," means just that; that out of several/many people/friends, YOU are his favorite; someone he has special feelings for (not necessarily romantic.) So, while it's understandable that your boyfriend got mad (he must be a "machito") he just needs to get over it because no one can control how other people feel about you.
