Romantic ideas please?

My boyfriend is the best ever. We have been together for a month but have been friends for 5 years. Back in 07' we lost touch and just recentently we came back in touch. It was at my grandfathers funeral back in june. We talked for a while after the wake and he told me he adopted a young boy back in 08' named Dennis. We started going out in the beginning of October. What are some good ideas other than dinner and s** I could do to show my boyfriend I love him also I have done little notes in the past so not that idea either please something unusual and romantic. Also what could I give his son to show him I care about him?
