I wouldn't break up with him when there's nothing wrong with the relationship except the fact that it seems like there's no way it could work. If you think he's worth it, I'd say stick with it until it's apparent you need to be physically around each other (and not separated by distance). Don't throw away a good one because of what-ifs. You might regret it later on.
